School-Age Care
High-quality school-age care is AFFORDABLE! Children's Center staff will help get children safely on the bus in the mornings, and walk them back into the school-age classroom in the afternoons. An after school snack will be provided for each child, and caring teachers will welcome children into a fun and relaxing setting where children can be engaged in any of the learning centers (computers, legos, art, library, discovery tables and games).
Preschool
In our preschool program, children learn letter sounds, numbers, colors, and shapes. Bible stories and other stories are also used during circle time. Though all of these things are part of our program every day, our curriculum's primary focus is on the physical environment as the setting for learning. It engages children in exploring, trying out their ideas, creating their own versions of what they have learned and sharing ideas.
Our preschool program is available to families for a monthly charge based on age and number of days per week (see parent information) - but is free to all families already enrolled in child care.
Infant/Toddler Care
Specialized care for children 6 weeks through 2 1/2 years is provided at The Children's Center. Infants and toddlers eat and sleep according to their own needs. Infants are held and talked to throughout the day, and their feeding, diapering, and napping patterns are recorded for parents. A toddler curriculum is used to help children develop new language and play skills, and records are sent home daily to keep parents informed of eating, sleeping and diapering/potty-training happenings.
